Tetris Plurifamiliar Building

Tetris Plurifamiliar Building

A “Tetris” plurifamiliar building at Budapest. I thought about the idea that different users have different needs, so I tried to design a space where all these different users could share a space and have their own place with their personal characteristics.

The Project: Tetris Plurifamiliar Building

Budapest is a big metropolis. It is the capital of Hungary in the middle of Europe. Budapest has suffered a lot of changes during the last decades and some people all around Europe has arrived here to live. Not for nothing Budapest is considered one of the most cosmopolitan capitals in Europe.

This context should be taken into consideration when we are talking about create a new building. Inhabitants in Budapest are a big mix between young people who want to become independents, families who are looking a better place to rear their children and old people who want to spend their last time resting being away from big noise. Besides the overall characteristics of the customers, they also have their own needs. Usually old people do not need big houses and they prefer not to live in higher stores. Young people do not mind to live in higher flats, they are looking for modern apartments with and economic prize. Finally, families want to buy a home where they can spend a long time and they need enough space to let their children play and grow up.

With all these determining, creating a multistore building looks more a “Tetris” game than an architectural exercise. So, trying to find the best way to adequate the buildings to all our clients was how it appears the idea of this buildings. Besides their individualities, inhabitants of these building need to interact between them, so creating public share spaces was also a must to develop not just a building but also a community.
